Fun fur scarves

I did these a couple of weeks ago to get rid of my fun fur yarn. Wouldn't you know my mother went out and got me more.

Hats

This is what I am working on right now.

My grandson wants the white one and his friend wants the one I am doing right now.

This is the bad thing about knitting Christmas presents in front of them, they want the hats now. My middle grandson will get the one with the gold band.

Will need to do mittens and gloves to match.

Harry Potter Sweater

So my nephew wanted a Harry sweater . This pattern comes from the book "Charmed Knits " by Alison Hansel. The yarn is Lionbrand's Vanna's Choice.

I am not sure how this yarn will hold up as it is the first time I have used it. It's a thicker worstered weight than I like for a sweater. I like woolease much better. Holds up great for kid knits. I hope to get it finished before halloween.

Round Blanket

I made this blanket out of Lionbrand Homespun.
This is not my favorite yarn to crochet with, but it is so soft. My needle kept getting caught in the fibers. The picture is alittle dark. The yarn was leftover from sweaters I have knitted . The sweaters are so warm ,but the yarn tends to pill a bit.

Mittens & Scarf

I finished my mittens and still had enough left over yarn to do a scarf.

September Socks

It has been so hot that I have put my sweater down for now to work on boot socks.

I made a pair for me out of cranberry woolease.

I also made a pair out of Paton's Classic Wool in pumpkin for my grandson. He needed them for an Outward Bound trip. He could not bring anything cotton so he got wool socks.

I am now working on a fun fur scarf, for some mindless knitting. I still have a bunch of this in my stash I need to use up. I now hear these are no longer in style. I'll pass them out as gifts for Christmas. :^)

My Scarf Pattern

The Leaky Cauldron has posted that everything should be converted in a few days , so access should be up soon.

Tony's Skate hat

My grandson wanted a visor hat like the skateboarders wear. I looked around and showed him different visor hat patterns, all of which he did not like , so I had to come up with my own pattern. I changed a basic hat pattern and added a foam visor that I cut out myself.

Note to self, when using black yarn, use black foam.

You can see the foam threw the yarn. Other than that ,I think it came out very well.

I have started to write out directions for this pattern. I hope to get it done soon.

Now my other grandson wants one and my husband wanted to know where his has was.

Holiday knitting is where their hat is.LOL

UFO KAL Continued

Because it has been sooo hot, the progress on my sweater has been slow. I am now working on the front. This is a great sweater to knit, I just hate chart knitting. It looks so pretty though.

I have done a pair of socks for my mother's birthday. It was on September 5th. I also crocheted some pot scrubbers that I will use for teacher gifts during the holidays. They will also make great gifts for the family with matching dishcloths.

The DIY group wants to continue the UFO KAL for this month. I think next month we will do entrelac scarf kal. We will use this pattern. http://www.allisonknits.com/entrelacscarf.pdf

UFO KAL

Over at DIY we are doing a UFO KAL. I am working on a sweater I started last year.

The sweater is called Erin, from the book " Hot Knits".

I love the pattern and colors. I do most of my sweaters from the top down as I hate sewing them up . This sweater needs to be sewn so I had tossed it aside for those top down ones, also with the heat I have done very little sweater knitting. There is only one more week of the KAL and I need to get moving. I have the back finished and the front started . I hope to be done by next week

Fall Exchange

I joined in the Fall Exchange over at Knit & Chat.

Items had to be there by September.

My buddy was Julie, better known as Jules.

I sent her the tam and mittens I did for the DIY KAL.

I also sent her a moebius I did using the Knitty Gritty pattern .

This was a very easy pattern and works up quick.

I also sent a pot scrubber ( she thought was a coaster ) , some stitch markers , a magazine , some yarn and candy.

I was glad she liked them. The colors look lovely on her.

She has put up pictures of her wearing them.

DIY Suprise Scarf KAL Done

Hi All !!

I finished my DIY Suprise Scarf KAL this morning and already gave it away. I let my grandson give it to the principal . She loved it and the color was great on her as she is a blond. The yarn color is Basil .

DIY suprise scarf KAL

I am almost done with the scarf for the KAL over at DIY. I am knitting like crazy in order to be done for this Saturday. I would let you know what the pattern is , but its a surprise !! Will post a picture and link to the pattern I am using when I get done.

Things have been crazy at school this week . The last two weeks always are. Yesterday we had field day and the ice cream social.

Today my class went on their field trip. They loved the train ride and the beach. With all the different things going on , they were so tired at the end of the day.

Tomorrow we are having the 5th grade breakfast . My youngest grandson will go to it as he is graduating this year and going to middle school.

Tomorrow night we will to go to the oldest grandsons middle school graduation . Its hard to believe he will go to high school next year. I feel so old !! LOL

My House Scarf Pattern

I have posted a link to my Harry Potter pattern. It is a house scarf pattern from the 4th movie.
I made this before the movie came out and did not know there were color bars close together at the ends of the movie scarf.
The last 35 rows were not posted for some reason. So you need to do another 35 rows of black before binding off.

My Knitting Blog

Well I thought it was about time I started a blog. I have been knitting for about 39 years now. Since I was 10. Hard to believe its been that long. I learned from my grandmother.
I go by Lulu but my real name is Cheryl. I use Lulu because my husband calls me that after my grandmother Luette.
I will post about different items I am knitting and how I like the patterns I am using.

I love knitting socks . On the Knit & Chat site we are doing a sock a month knit-along.

Right now I have a knit-along going for scarves. I called it the Suprise scarf knit-along so everyone could pick out their own pattern. We are only letting each other know what yarn and color we are using. The surprise comes when we post our pictures of our scarf and then tell what pattern we are using. This way we can see what everyone comes up with.
This will also give everyone there another way to reach me when DIY goes down.
We just finished a purse knit-along there .
As soon as I figure out how to post pictures here , I will post some of my knitting.
